Data Recovery - Undeleting a File
Undulation is the simplest form of data recovery. You can also use Windows based data recovery programs like Norton to get your data back. The deleted files change the first character of their name and write zeros to the chain of sectors and clusters in the FAT in place of the files name and all this is done by the operating systems. You will see the first character of the file name with lowercase sigma showing its erased status when you use the Norton Disk Editor in the directory entry. The Norton Unease is the similar program which looks the directory. It can ignore the erased filenames. You can correct it by replacing lowercase sigma with standard characters. There will be no need to supply the first letter with the Norton Enhanced Recycle Bin.
